Bringing attention and curiosity to our…

Foundations

Where do I come from?

Who are my ancestors?

How do I connect more deeply with the land where I live?

How do I live on this earth, amongst all that is here, in a good way?

What did my upbringing teach me about who I am?

What is my connection to creativity, community, and spirituality?

The Foundations journey supports alignment in mind, body, and spirit, while cultivating upright relationships to the world.

We offer a developmental map for life-giving personal practices in relationship to our bodies, the natural world, society, and the unseen world. We explore our root system — who we are by where we came from — and what our ancestral traditions might have for us. We build meaningful anchor systems of multi-generational mentorship to support and hold us on this journey.

This is a 10-month journey aimed at young folks who yearn to stand as their adult versions of themselves.

Embedded inside the wombtime of our 10 months together, we hold a deep dive into the schemas within which we were raised, who we were as youth, and the systems we are a part of now. As we examine how our childhood guardians and society shaped us, we claim the beautiful opportunity of becoming our own and each other’s best guides, by meeting challenging patterns with compassion and rigor, creating more space to transform them from the inside out.

We strive to compost limiting belief systems that may live in us as internalized messaging that no longer serve our lives. We do this through curiosity and the transformative power of ceremony. We forge a path of awareness along which we can make conscious choices about how we want to participate in our lives and the transformation of society. We culminate our time together with an intensive overnight ceremony, retroactively reclaiming our First Moontime Rite of Passage.

A unifying practice that draws many to this work is the introduction to deep nature connection, ancestral hand skills, and earth-centric ceremonial arts. We spend time with the plant, animal, and elemental worlds, building relationships through real tending and calling on these beings to aid us in our journey of integrating our adolescent self. As we bring compassionate presence to these young parts of ourselves, we prepare ourselves for the longer arc of Initiation into Adulthood, where the central questions are…

“Foundations stands alone as a powerful journey. I took a deep dive into my childhood and the world I was brought up in; I reflected on memories that were filled with love as well as the ones that were painful and agonizing to resurface. Having a solid, supportive container to process and make sense of the impacts of these experiences, and how they have directly shaped me, not only helped me understand who I am and why I am the way I am, but also helped me have cleaner and clearer relations with family members and core relationships. The Foundations journey was also imperative for introducing me to the ways of ceremony and prayer, for showing me the roots of my fears, passions, and patterns, and for building trust and safety in my relationships, with the Tree of Life work and in community.”
